    Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-

    (a) whether Indian Foreign Secretary visited Sri Lanka recently;

    (b) if so, the details thereof; and

    (c) the details of issues discussed during the said visit?
    ANSWER: THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SMT. PRENEET KAUR)

    (a) to (c) The Foreign Secretary visited Sri Lanka in October 2011. During the visit, the Foreign Secretary called on the President of Sri Lanka and met with the Minister for Economic Development, Leader of Opposition, Foreign Secretary and other officials and representatives of the Tamil National Alliance.

    The Foreign Secretary held discussions on the entire gamut of bilateral relations, regional and global issues of mutual interest. He also reviewed the progress of the implementation of developmental projects being taken up in Sri Lanka under Indian assistance.
