Iran, IAEA wrap up latest round of talks; Iran provides ElBaradei with new information of Iran’s new generation centrifuges

  • ran and IAEA have wrapped up the latest round of talks on January 8. The talks aimed at resolving the ambiguities over several elements of the Iranian nuclear programme. Reports indicated that the latest round of talks centered on uranium particle contamination found in the past by UN inspectors at the technical college of Tehran University. In previous rounds, the two sides have held discussions about Iran's past experiments with plutonium and its use of uranium-enriching P1 and P2 centrifuges1.

    In other news, Iran has promised IAEA inspectors that it will answer all the remaining questions about its past nuclear activities within four weeks. Making the announcement, the spokeswoman for the IAEA Director General noted that Dr. ElBaradei was also given new information on Iran's ''new generation of centrifuges'' during the weekend talks with Iranian leaders2.
