Q. No. 2505 Restarting process for purchase of bunker burster rifles

Question: Will the Minister of DEFENCE be pleased to satate :-
(a) whether it is a fact that Government is considering to restart the process for buying bunker burster rifles;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether it is also a fact that the army is ready with the technical parameters for the purchase of these bunker burster rifles; and
(d) if so, the details thereof?

a)to(d):Yes, Sir. The request for information (RFI) for Anti Material Rifles and Breaching Munitions was uploaded on the website of the Ministry of Defence, on 6th July 2012 and 13th July 2012 respectively with a view to obtain information from the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) about the product. The qualitative requirements (QRs) are still being formulated.
