    Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:-

    (a) whether the President of Sri Lanka visited New Delhi recently;

    (b) if so, the details thereof; and

    (c) the outcome of the talks held with him by the Indian leaders?

    ANSWER THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SHRIMATI PRENEET KAUR)

    (a) to (c) The President of Sri Lanka visited India from 19 to 22 September 2012. During his stay in New Delhi, he met the President and Prime Minister. The two sides, inter alia, reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations and discussed issues of mutual interest. The President of Sri Lanka also visited Sanchi at the invitation of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for the inauguration of the Sanchi International Buddhist Studies University.
