    Will the Minister of SPACE be pleased to state:-

    (a) the status of Aerobic Vehicle for Hypersonic Aerospace Transportation (AVATAR) project jointly spearheaded by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO); and

    (b) the time by which the first prototype will be ready for testing?

    ANSWER: MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PG & PENSIONS AND IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE(SHRI V. NARAYANASAMY):

    (a)&(b) Feasibility study of project `AVATAR` has been done by a group of scientists in DRDO. ISRO has no connection with the project.
