    DR. THOKCHOM MEINYA:

    Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

    (a) whether the militant outfits responsible for carrying out terrorist activities in the country have set up their new bases in other countries;
    (b) if so, the names of such militant outfits alongwith the names of the countries in which they have set up their bases;
    (c) the date since when these bases are functioning; and
    (d) the names of the countries with which the Government has raised this issue?

    ANSWER THE MINISTER OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (SHRI S.M. KRISHNA)

    (a) to (d) Available inputs indicate that terrorist infrastructure continues to exist in Pakistan and Pak-occupied Kashmir. Further, there are also reports that some Indian Insurgent Groups (IIGs) operating in North Eastern States have set up their camps/ hideouts in Bangladesh and Myanmar. The Government of India’s security concerns in this regard are conveyed regularly to all countries concerned.
