Essential Qualifications

 

  • Master’s Degree in Political Science/ History/ English/ International Relations/ Defence Studies, or a related subject with first class from a recognized university
  • Excellent command over English Language including written English, and a sound knowledge of MS Office and working of Internet and strong interpersonal communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Degree in mass communication or publishing.
Professional Experience
  • Experience of at least 08 years with reputed publishing houses in editing/ publishing and processing of peer reviewed Journals.
  • Candidates with experience in editing and processing of peer-reviewed journals related to International Relations, Area Studies, Strategic Studies and Defence and Security issues will be preferred.
Responsibilities*
  • Manage the editorial process of the Institute’s refereed bimonthly journal, Strategic Analysis, and other publications (Books, Monographs, Occasional Papers, Annual Report etc.), organize and handle receipt, review and compilation of contributions to Strategic Analysis.
  • Interact with the scholars and other experts for peer-review and to seek contributions.
  • Undertake first level editorial checks and peer-review.
  • Ensure timely compilation of contributions and their dispatch.
  • Deal with the designated publishing house on all administrative matters related to the Journal’s publication.
  • Handle and process payments to contributors and reviewers.
  • Publicity and distribution of Journal
  • Any other publication related issues.
  • The responsibility would, however, not be limited to the above mentioned tasks. The selected candidate will be expected to participate and undertake tasks/ commitments that the Institute may assign from time to time.

General Information
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend interview at MP-IDSA, Delhi
  • Certificates in original are to be produced in support of educational and age eligibility at the time of interview.
  • Education qualification will be calculated as on last date of submission of application.
  • Shortlisted outstation candidates will be paid AC- III tier rail fare on production of tickets, by the shortest route

Where the number of applications received in response to an advertisement is large and it will not be convenient or possible to called for test / interview all the candidates, the Institute, at its discretion, may restrict the number of candidates to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications / experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement and other academic achievements and feedback on past performance.
