The Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses is an autonomous body registered as a Society under the Societies Act 1860, supported by the Ministry of Defence. It is engaged in policy-oriented research on defence, security and foreign policy issues.

MP-IDSA invites applications from qualified persons for the position of Deputy Director General in pay scale currently equivalent to Pay 14 of 7th CPC (Rs.1,44,200-2,18,200) for a term of three years, on contract basis. This is essentially a management post. He/she should have adequate research experience to guide and supervise research work at the Institute.

Candidate should have an excellent academic and research background, preferably with a PhD and/or a track record of publications, aptitude for policy research and managerial competence to work in a think tank.
