    On-Campus Accommodation

    • Residential accommodation is available at MP-IDSA.
    • In case, accommodation is not available, HRA will be permissible

    Full-time

    Contractual

    • For a two years term including a probationary period of initial six months from the date of joining the Institute.
    • The term may be renewed, if applied for and subject to suitability assessed by the Institute.  This will not confer any right of permanence.

    Age Limit

    Not More than 35 years as on 1 January 2022

    Age relaxation applicable as per the govt. norms for reserved category candidates.

    Educational Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree with a first class in Social Sciences and allied fields such as public policy, international relations, strategic affairs, development studies is essential
    • Preference shall be given to candidates who have a background in the respective fields and have completed M.Phil. or Ph.D. in the desired area

    Preferred

    • The above is the minimum qualification. Candidates with longer research experience and better educational qualification will be preferred
    • Candidates who have completed the doctorate degree in a related subject and have published peer- reviewed work of high order
    • Candidates with requisite work and research experience in think tanks, research institutes or universities
    • Preference to domain specialisation in CAR countries, South Asia, Strategic Technologies, Cyber Security, North America, Defence Economics & Industry, Nuclear Disarmament and Non Proliferation, Southeast Asia and Oceania, Counter-Terrorism and other relevant fields.

    Professional Experience

    Research experience in a think tank and published papers in respective area of research matters

    Overall Purpose and Role

    • Professional individual with research skills and excellent communication skills, drawing upon knowledge gained from postgraduate research or professional experience (if applicable)
    • Shall be associated with the nominated Centre, will contribute ideas for the enhancement of techniques or methodologies for research (at centre level) and is expected to take significant initiatives in its work, in consultation with the Centre Coordinator

    Job Description*

    • The job profile inter-alia includes:
    • Preparing databases
    • Writing a Book review and/ or web commentary once in three months for the MP-IDSA Website (four in a year)
    • One Issue Brief per year
    • Will be encouraged to write a research paper/ journal article once a year unless handled significant institutional responsibilities
    • Participate in the capacity building activities like writing/research workshops, language training etc.
    • Work as part of a project undertaken (at any time by the Centre) and/ or assist Centre members on specific papers and compile monthly activity report
    • Providing research support for the Centre which may involve data mining by scanning journals and new arrivals in the library to provide a bibliography of the various articles/books relating to the subject matter concerned
    • Writing event reports of fellow’s seminars, roundtables, seminars, workshops, etc. held at the Institute
    • Provide administrative support for organising roundtables, workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings under the aegis of the Centre, getting in touch over telephone and email with invitees (chairs, discussants, participants) under the supervision of the Centre Coordinator, coordinating with the conference cell to arrange transport, refreshments, lunch etc.
    • Assisting with major events organised by the Institute like the Asian Security Conference, South Asia Conference, Foundation Day, etc. every year.

    • A copy of the Caste Certificate issued by a competent authority as stipulated by Government of India in the Central List  in case of ST / OBC category
    • Those applying under the OBC category reserved posts should also enclose a certificate of not belonging to 'CREAMY LAYER' signed by a competent authority
    • PWD Candidates. With benchmark disability (as mentioned in Section 2 (r) of RPWD Act 2016) should produce a medical certificate in the prescribed format from the competent govt. authority as specified in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

    General Information

    • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend interviews at MP-IDSA, Delhi
    • Certificates in original are to be produced in support of educational and age eligibility (and category, if applicable) at the time of interview.
    • Education qualification will be calculated as on last date of submission of application.
    • Shortlisted outstation candidates will be paid AC- III tier rail fare on production of tickets, by the shortest route
    • The Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the positions advertised.
    • The Institute reserves the right to cancel recruitment at any stage without assigning any reason.
    • The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement and other academic achievements and feedback on past performance
    • Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for the interview. The decision of the institute in all matters will be final.
    • MP-IDSA reserves the right to relax the prescribed qualifications for candidates found more suitable for the position with relevant experience and expertise in the specified field.
    • The certificates will be subject to verification/reverification as may be decided by the competent authority.
    • Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under the 'Creamy Layer' and/ or if their caste does not find place in the Central List are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as 'General (GEN)’
    • PwD candidates applying against UR vacancies are allowed age relaxation as applicable to UR (PwD) only.
    • In case a candidate joins the Institute accepting the Terms and Conditions contained herein, she/he will be required to give an undertaking in writing that she/he will not apply for any appointment or course, part-time or full-time, without obtaining the written permission from the competent authority of the Institute. Also, while in service of the Institute, she/he will not engage in any trade or business or undertake any other full-time or part- time appointment and submit list of assets, both moveable and immovable, at the time of joining, as laid down in the Lokpal Bill
