  • Reports noted that Washington and its allies were finalizing a ‘comprehensive’ set of incentives that North Korea could receive for making ‘irreversible’ moves on dismantling its nuclear program. The new offer was confirmed by Kurt Campbell, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs at the US Embassy in Seoul. Campbell stated that the US was following a “two-track strategy" while dealing with Pyongyang. He added that the US was prepared to sit down with North Korea, "under the right circumstances” and provided it would abandon its nuclear ambitions1.
