South Korean President visits China, seeks greater economic ties between the two countries

    South Korean president Park Geun-hye, on June 27, arrived at Beijing on a four-day long trip. During her summit talk with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, both the leaders agreed that North Korea nuclear weapon programme poses a major threat to regional security. They also emphasized on the necessity of the two countries’ close cooperation in denuclearizing the North. Both also vowed to expand further their already flourishing bilateral economic ties, including moving speedily towards the conclusion of a FTA. 1
