    According to reports, Chinese military officials have asserted that they want to improve relations with the US. However they also asserted that there is a need for proper resolution of US surveillance flights near China. 1

    On bilateral front, Hu Jintao congratulated the newly elected Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi. 2

    Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived in Argentina on June 23, 2012 to boost bilateral ties.3 Meanwhile China and Brazil announced that they are upgrading their bilateral relations to strategic level. 4
    China’s Vice President Xi Jingping met with his Singaporean counterpart and called for enhanced military ties between the countries. 5

    In another development, China and Bhutan stated that they should work towards establishing formal diplomatic ties. 6 Beijing has also asserted that China and India should work towards improving their bilateral ties. 7

    In other developments, according to reports, China’s top legislature, the National People’s Congress (NPC), urged Vietnam to correct an erroneous maritime law passed by it. 8 While, Wang Yang, Party Secretary of the Guangdong province has noted that there needs to be sustained efforts to fight corruption and maintain the nature of the Communist Party. 9
